I took my mother to the Byrdhouse rooftop bar for her birthday and my experience was amazing, mainly due to the perfect service and personality of the bartender named Aidan. His drinks were amazing and he was very attentive. And that doesn’t even go to mention the amazing view and great food. This place was a complete vibe and I will be coming back with my friends. I got the pimento cheese with pork rinds, hummus, and shrimp tacos. All were amazing. Only suggestion is the salsa on the tacos should be a little thicker and add a little more, but the taste was still really good. I dont understand how this place doesn’t have higher ratings. My experience couldnt be better. Thanks Aidan for making my mothers birthday special!!!

Loved it. Great views, amazing cocktails, perfect for late spring/early summer w a lovely breeze. Kid friendly, but don't be a jerk- if you are ordering food (for yourself or your kid) rub the two neurons together that it takes to understand how unfair it is to the staff to order food on the balcony - it SUCKS to have to get food to there, (and, shockingly!) even more than it sucks having to go back downstairs to order food. Just be a decent person, order drinks at the bar (like a normal person), and get your food downstairs close to the kitchen.... that way it is still warm when you get it, and you won't sound like a completely entitled dumbass when you complain about how long it took/how cold your food is, when you were too lazy to even try to go downstairs without the burden of an order.

Views are great. Chill vibe. Bar is basic nothing high end in terms of liquor. Not loud on a Sunday great place to relax and chat. Met some cool people.

It's a small rooftop space. I can imagine it's really crowded at times. But on my first visit, it was a quiet evening. The service was excellent. The food was excellent. The Center of the Universe beer, crafted specifically for Byrd House, was tasty as well as distinctive. Last but most importantly, the 180 degree view of Richmond, from this rooftop, is stunning, from the view of downtown, to tree lines either side of the James River, to the Fan District.

Stopped by on our way through Richmond and enjoyed our time! The menu is small and the food is fairly simple but very delicious. Highly recommend the "enlightenment" cocktail! Great views of the city all around.

Cool bar. Drinks were pretty interesting, but the food menu left much to be desired. Great place to watch the sunset - not crowded at all.

First time at this location and although we didn't have food (though pleasantly surprised that they offered food late into the evening), the drinks, service, atmosphere and views were spot on. I definitely recommend and will be back next time I'm staying over in Richmond.
